Institute of Technology Carlow Hosts EdTech 2018 Conference

Institute of Technology Carlow will host the Irish Learning Technology Association (ILTA) EdTech 2018 Conference, which takes place on 31st May and 1st June.  Now in its 19th year, the EdTech Conference is expected to attract over 200 delegates to the two-day event.

The theme of EdTech 2018 is TEL Quality Matters - People, Policies and Practices. Keynote speakers will include: Dr. Mary-Liz Trant, Executive Director for Skills Development at SOLAS, Dr. Jill Buban, Senior Director of Research and Innovation at Online Learning Consortium and Professor Martin Weller, Director of the Institute of Educational Technology and OER Hub, Open University.

The conference will be opened on Thursday morning in the Haughton Building by ILTA chair, Paul Gormley, followed by a welcome address by Institute president, Dr. Patricia Mulcahy.  With over 130 presentations and talks planned for the two days, a wide variety of topics will be covered, including: Gamification; Learner Analytics, Assessment and Feedback in a Digital Age; Online and Blended Learning; and Global Challenges in Higher and Further Education. The conference will be of great interest to all those involved in technology-enhanced learning across all sectors.
