Professionals from Social Care Ireland, Youth Work Ireland, KARE, Saplings, Carlow Regional Youth Services and Mental Health Services are amongst the community, educational and healthcare providers participating in IT Carlow’s forthcoming Youth, Social & Community Career Development Seminar. Organised by the Institute’s Supervised Professional Practice office for Social Care and Youth & Community students, the initiative will take place on Thursday 25th February at the Institute’s Barrow Centre from 11.15am to 1.15pm.
Established to help Social Care and Youth & Community students identify paths to placement and employment within their sector, the initiative will feature a conference, impromptu talks by alumni on their career progression routes, trade stands, a CV writing workshop and recruitment tips specific to the sector. Special guest speaker is Catherine Byrne who is the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) officer from Social Care Ireland who will discuss the registration process and CPD in Social Care work. Other keynote speakers include Kerrie Wickham and Therese Brady from Saplings Schools for Children with Autism and JJ Grace from Carlow Regional Youth Services.
